BSA collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. BSA requests information from the user on course registration forms and for membership in the Balanced Scorecard User Community. A user must provide contact information (such as name and email address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes. If BSA has trouble processing a course registration or user membership, this information is used to contact the user. BSA’s secure online event registration system is powered by RegOnline. Visa recently certified RegOnline for Level 1 PCI compliance, the highest security certification available. As one of only 300 hundred organizations worldwide with this level of security, RegOnline is one of the only registration systems certifiably safe. The privacy policy of RegOnline.com can be found at http://www.regonline.com/Marketing/Privacy.aspx.
There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by BSA. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by BSA for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the BSA Web site.
BSA encourages you to review the privacy statements of Web sites you choose to link to from BSA so that you can understand how those Web sites collect, use and share your information. BSA is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the BSA and BSA family of Web sites.
2. Use of your Personal Information
BSA collects and uses your personal information to operate the BSA Web site and to deliver the services you have requested. BSA also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from BSA and its affiliates. BSA may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.
BSA does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. BSA may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, BSA may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, or provide customer support. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to BSA, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
BSA does not collect sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations.
BSA keeps track of the Web sites and pages customers visit within BSA, in order to determine what BSA services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content within BSA to customers whose behaviour indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
BSA Web sites will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on BSA or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of BSA; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of BSA, or the public.
3. Special Offers and Updates
BSA retains user names and contact information in order to notify users of courses, publications or other news. This is done infrequently and only when directly related to BSA offerings, not those of third parties. However, BSA may provide product data and descriptions from various other vendors in order to inform users. Out of respect for the privacy of users, BSA offers the option to not receive these types of communications.

7. Use of Cookies
The BSA Web site use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you add the BSA webpage to your favourites or register with the BSA site a cookie helps BSA to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same BSA Web site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the BSA features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the BSA website or other web sites you visit.
8. Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers, BSA uses log files. Logs include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and similar data. BSA uses this information in the aggregate to analyze trends, administer the site, record accesses to pages, and gather broad demographic information. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. BSA uses tracking utilities called Analog, Webalizer and WebTrends that read server log files to analyze user traffic.
9. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
Clear Gifs are small files that are used to determine where users click on a page, in order to gather aggregate user choices. BSA does not use clear Gifs.
10. Security of your Personal Information
BSA secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. BSA secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other Web sites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
The BSA website is hosted by Harolow Media. Harlow Media uses the industry's latest technology and procedures to protect all user information. Servers are located in a secure, limited-access facility. Files are backed up weekly and stored at the same secure location. Backup files are deleted every 100 days.
11. Links to Other Sites
This Web site contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by BSA Please be aware that BSA is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
12. Question and Survey Forms
The BSA site may contain forms that request information from users via surveys or questionnaires. Submission of these forms is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information may include contact information (such as name and email address). Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site, and for special research projects. Users' personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties unless BSA gives prior notice and choice.
13. Changes to this Statement
BSA will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. BSA encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how BSA is protecting your information.
